Anime

Even though Japan has risen to become the third world’s largest economy and their animation production, i.e., anime has gained global acclamation, success, and easily one of the most recognizable styles of films, people still think anime is for kids has no educational value. Anime is more than just cartoons; it’s full of interesting topics, subjects, and educational materials that we can cultivate as a teaching tool for preparing our future generation to become future leaders. Let’s take a look at why anime should become an educational tool to teach our young:

It’s Easier for Children to Absorb Information

In general, children learn everything at a much faster rate and pace than adults because their glass is still empty, and they are interested in everything. However, not all children share the same trait; some are blockheads who can’t absorb information quickly unless the subject at hand interests them. This is where anime comes into play to help those children learn important subjects or life lessons that can shape them to be better human beings in the future.

It Teaches Them to Be Hard Workers

Almost all cores of anime are about hard work and hardship, which will do our youth some good to equip them with the mentality that they wish to work hard even if they are untalented or have the odds against them. Anime like Dragonball, Naruto, My Hero Academia can teach our children to be the pillar of society by giving them the mindset to work hard and persevere even in difficult situations. Remember that hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.

It Can Be Used to Teach Language

Many anime are great tools for teaching Japanese or English since they use subtitles and are translated accurately by professionals. Westerners picked up Japanese from watching anime. It helped them get a stable footing for when they go to Japan, since they know a few words and survive Japanese, and that goes the same with Japanese people who watched Western Animations like Rick and Morty or Avatar the Legend of Aang. Now think what children can achieve with their empty glasses if even adults can pick up language effortlessly from watching anime?

It Is Good for Building Confidence

Not everyone is born with the confidence of Zlatan, and having a lack of confidence can impair their living quality and make them a social outcast. We should prepare our children well and teach them about self-worth and self-esteem to ensure they grow up to be joyful souls brimming with confidence and a resilient spirit that won’t bend to bullying, coercion, or threats. Anime shows a lot of struggle and hardship that the characters face during their journey, and it will be good for children to be able to relate to the characters in order to build self-love and confidence in the future, to know that all of their hardships and struggles are not for naught.
